Crib Safety Information
To prevent tragedies, parents and caretakers can take the following precautions to ensure a safer sleeping environment for their young children.

We would like to be sure all our customers purchasing baby bedding are up to date on crib safety. All information is compiled from CPSC. You can learn more about baby safety and any product recalls on their website: www.cpsc.gov
Make Sure Your Crib Is Safe
Before you put your baby to sleep in any crib, check to be sure it's safe. A safe crib has --
A firm, tight-fitting mattress
No loose, missing, or broken hardware or slats
No more than 2 3/8" between the slats (about the width of a soda can)
No corner posts over 1/16" high
No cutout designs in the headboard or foot board
Be sure your bedding is safe too.
Make sure crib sheets fit snugly on a crib mattress and overlap under the mattress so it cannot be dislodged by pulling on the corner of the sheet by a child.
Never use an adult sheet on a crib mattress; it can come loose and present an entanglement hazard to young children.
Place a baby on his/her back on a firm, tight-fitting mattress in a crib meeting current safety standards.
Remove pillows, quilts, comforters, and toys from the crib. These items should not be used until your infant is a toddler.
Prevention of SIDS tips:
For infants under 12 months of age, follow these practices to reduce the risk of SIDS (sudden infant death syndrome) and prevent suffocation:
Place baby on his/her back in a crib with a firm, tight-fitting mattress.
Do not put pillows, quilts, comforters, sheepskins, pillow-like bumper pads or pillow-like stuffed toys in the crib.
Consider using a sleeper or wearable blanket(sleep sack) instead of a blanket.
If you do use a blanket, place baby with feet to foot of the crib. Tuck a thin blanket around the crib mattress, covering baby only as high as his/her chest.
Use only a fitted bottom sheet specifically made for crib use. Corners should be elasticized and able to fit under the mattress.
